Questions, answered.

The essentials about TransRapid — what it is, where it runs, and what to expect as we move toward service.

What is TransRapid?

TransRapid is a citizen-owned rapid electric bus network being built along Kerala's NH-66. Think of it as a "rubber-tired train" — rail-competitive speed and AC chair-car comfort, running limited-stop along the highway, with integrated TransRapid Stations along the corridor.

Is it really electric?

Yes. The fleet is all-electric — quiet, clean, fully air-conditioned coaches designed for comfortable inter-city travel along the corridor.

Where will it run?

TransRapid operates along the redeveloped NH-66. The first Phase-1 segments are Kasaragod–Kannur (~95 km) and Kozhikode–Ponnani (~85 km), with further extensions planned down the corridor as the highway opens.

When does it launch?

We're pre-operative today. TransRapid launches as the new NH-66 opens in phases through 2026, deploying corridor by corridor starting on Kerala's northern coast.

How will I reserve a seat?

You'll be able to reserve a seat and confirm your journey ahead of travel. Full details on how to reserve will be shared closer to launch — join the waitlist below to be among the first to know.

How is it different from a regular bus or the train?

TransRapid is a rubber-tired train: highway-exclusive and limited-stop rather than mixed-traffic and stop-everywhere. Compared with a conventional bus, it offers fully air-conditioned, chair-car comfort on a unified, citizen-owned network with designed stations. Compared with rail, it aims for train-competitive journey times with below-rail fares.

What does "citizen-owned" mean?

TransRapid is operated by TransGreen Ventures Limited, a citizen-led, professionally managed public limited company. It's a project built to serve the people of Kerala, with ownership rooted in the community rather than a single private operator.

Can I invest?

TransGreen Ventures Limited is a citizen-owned public limited company. Any participation happens only through a formal statutory process — we can't discuss it informally here. If you'd like to learn more, please contact the company directly.
